As young children, triplets Gabby, Annie, and Mark Duncan make Christmas wishes by tossing coins into a wishing well in North Pole, Alaska. They each wish for their heart’s desire to come true in the future, since their military father has been relocated once again, forcing them to leave their current home and friends behind.
On their twenty-ninth birthday, they make a triplet decree to accomplish their wish within three years. The next morning, Gabby finds a package on her porch containing an antique locket. Clues lead her to the Moonbeam Ranch where she meets Jake Hayes, a handsome cowboy and former soldier. Jake is trying to save the family ranch that fell into disrepair when his dad died.
Gabby delivers the locket to his grandmother, who tells the story of a lost love from her youth. Intrigued, Gabby makes a deal with Jake. If he helps her locate his grandmother’s lost love, she’ll help him save his ranch, using her skills as a designer and website promoter.
Their arrangement seems beneficial for both, but neither can deny that it’s something more. But painful past experiences cloud their emotions, and they begin to question whether or not their joint efforts are worth reliving the pain.
